I am queer.
I am different.
I am unusual.
I am outside the box.
I am not like you.
I am unique.

I am queer.
I am a lover.
I am a fighter.
I am inside your world.
I am not afraid of you.
I am independent.

I am queer.
I am compassionate.
I am sensitive.
I am part of this earth.
I am here for you.
I am human.

I am queer.
I am a father.
I am a patriot.
I am from the heartland.
I am just like you.

There are those who say "Everything happens for a reason"
But I, for one, am not inclined to think that that's a fact

If you spend most every day just searching for the reason
You'll find yourself without the time and energy to act
